In addition to creating E-mail accounts, you can also create an unlimited number of E-mail aliases. An E-mail alias is simply a virtual E-mail address. Unlike an E-mail account - which has a mailbox, user name and password - an E-mail alias exists only to redirect to a "real" E-mail account. However, to people that send E-mail messages to an E-mail alias it appears and acts like it were an E-mail account; to you, it's a virtual address whose only function is to forward to an actual E-mail account.
To create an E-mail
alias:
1 |
Click Email in the main navigation menu of SiteControl. |
2 |
Under the Email Addresses section, click click here. |
3 |
Enter the name of the E-mail alias and select either Deliver or Forward. Choose Deliver if you wish to redirect to an existing E-mail account in your domain; choose Forward if you wish to redirect to an E-mail account outside of your domain (e.g. a Yahoo account). |

In the example above, we are creating an alias called "maryjane" that redirects to an existing E-mail account in the domain, mary@testcvdomain.com, by selecting it in the drop-down menu. Since maryjane is an alias, there is no user name or password associated with it; all E-mail messages sent to maryjane@testcvdomain.com would be found in mary@testcvdomain.com. |

Click Add Action. |
